Colin Boswell (MSc, Victoria University of Wellington, PhD Massey University) brings over 35 years of involvement in the IT and education sectors. Before joining the private sector, Dr Boswell spent 16 years in the tertiary sector, managing the computer centres at Massey and Victoria Universities, and developing and teaching computing courses for their computer science departments, teaching diploma courses at polytechnics, and developing and presenting a wide range of professional courses for the private sector, the New Zealand Computer Society, and for Continuing Education units at universities.

For the last 15 years Dr Boswell has been a consultant in the IT sector, both as a consultant and managing New Zealand based consulting teams in international consulting firms, including being a partner in PA Consulting Group, and the New Zealand Consulting Director of Gartner. He is currently an independent consultant.

Dr Boswell is a Fellow of the New Zealand Computer Society and an Associate fellow of the New Zealand Institute of management, has published extensively in international refereed journals and presented papers at a wide range of conferences.

Keith Cowan

Keith Cowan, BCom Otago, is a veteran of 7 years on the NACCQ committee serving the last 3 years as Deputy Chairperson plus has 14 years active experience on the CPIT LAC. He has worked for over 33 years in the IT industry in senior roles for companies including Burroughs, Fletchers, Cadbury Schweppes, and Cardinal Network. He is currently employed as Higher Education Partner Manager for JADE Software Corporation where he plans, co-ordinates and implements their international education program for Jade.

Keith has also been active in NZCS as treasurer and chairperson in regional committees, is a committee member of the NZ Software Association, and recently became the first chairperson of the Canterbury Software Cluster.

Keith specialises in the development and implementation of global software education programs partnering with significant international higher education IT providers. He sees New Zealand as a growing and successful environment to develop IT technologies, and educational training, as a fundamental of this growth. He has also been involved as an NZQA panel member in the accreditation of degree programs at three technical institutes.

Associate Professor Donald Joyce (BSc Hons Canterbury, PhD Cambridge) has served on the NACCQ Executive since 1993 and was its Chairperson for 5 years until 2003. He has worked for over 37 years in tertiary education, including 8 universities (Auckland, Cambridge, Otago, Oxford, Massey, Newcastle upon Tyne, Papua New Guinea, South Pacific). He is currently Associate Professor and Director of Postgraduate Computing Programmes at UNITEC.

He has taught computing at all levels from 3 to 10 and has supervised 11 masters students. He has been editor of the New Zealand Journal of Applied Computing and Information Technology since 1997. Among his many publications are one text book, four journal articles and more than 30 conference papers.

Dr. Samuel Mann (BSc Hons Otago, MSc Otago and PhD Otago) is a member of the NACCQ Executive has taken an active role in researc development and support, being Chair of the NACCQ Academic Quality and Support Working Group for 4 years.

Sam has an extensive research and publication record and as director of a company specialising in Information Technology development. In 2001, he took a leading role in the development of the Centre of Research Excellence in Information Technology, and is currently promoting the development of CITRUS.

Andy is an experienced independent consultant specialising in the strategic use of information and communications technologies and technology start-ups. His experience covers the delivery of successful technology projects in banking and finance, telecommunications, education and government. This project-based experience is complimented by a track record of leadership and senior management experience, in building and mentoring technology businesses and in managing cross-functional and virtual organisations.

Andy has been a member of UNITEC's Industry Advisory Committee since 1995 and its Chair since 1999. He joined the NACCQ Executive in 2000 and has been actively involved in developing the NACCQ proposal for centres of applied ICT research. Andy is an Advisory Board member of the Henderson-based WestSmart Business Inncubator, member of the Waitakere City Council EcoTech Advisory Group, Chair of the Waitakere eDemocracy Group and a Trustee of the WorkRaft Charitable Trust. He has a strong record of publication, particularly in the fields of community informatics and the social impact of technology (a field in which he is currently completing a PhD), educational technology and the strategic use if IT.
