Vol 1, Iss 1Welcome to the first issue of BITR!
June 2003

Welcome to The Bulletin of Information Technology Research, a new publication from CITRUS and the National Advisory Committee on Computing Qualifications (NACCQ). The Bulletin is an editorially reviewed journal published online up to four times a year. The aim of BITR is to publish works in progress and scholarly writings from new and emerging researchers, primarily in New Zealand. The focus of the journal is very much on the application of information and communications technologies to our everyday world, whether this is business, education or society in general. As such the journal welcomes submissions from researchers in this area and the editors would particularly like to encourage submissions from post-graduate students in this field.

Background to the Bulletin
May 2003

BITR is published by CITRUS, the National Centres for Information Technology Research, a co-ordinated network of physical and virtual research clusters across New Zealand with a focus on applied ICT research. It is an initiative of the NACCQ's Research Support Working Group, which is charged with support existing and emerging researchers in the field of applied ICT. NACCQ also publishes the Journal of Applied Computing and Information Technology (JACIT) and hosts an annual conference, which is now in its 16th year.
